I just purchased GW as I hope to acquire enough points for some of the ranger pets, but I gotta say even though that was my original intent, I'm actully having a good time.
I feel like GW has more direction/goals. whatever word you'd like and I feel more immersed.
I'm alos stupid as anything, I feel like I'm starting from LESS then ground zero. But, heck, I came for the HOM and stayed for the fun

I would get the spider in pre so you won't have to get in the UnderWorld.

you cant get a spider in pre, only bear, stalker, warthog, wolf and moa.

I'm bringing a guild group back to play the story-line and gain their HoM points as many of them have never played GW1. They - and I - are really excited. At this point, we may end up with two groups' worth.

(Besides, they'll finally be able to put lore references and such into context. GW2 did a piss poor job at connecting the dots - if that was even their intention, that is.)

You can't I thought you could.Yes you can get the Mossy Spider in pre but most want the black widow which I was getting confused with.

Unfortunately you can not charm Moss Spider's in pre searing

There are two different types.

You can however get one post searing by using a Moss Spider Egg

Thanks.I guess you really can't although I wouldn't get it for my pre Ranger who already has a hearty wolf.I might get it for my post Ranger at the Menagerie.

I got myself Dire Wolf's on most pre characters when I had a few hours to level them up but I still really want to get myself a Dire Bear!! I just don't have the time to run to around leveling it up all day

I know how you feel as it takes time to lvl them up and I wouldn't a mind dire wolf in post though.

Hey, I actually just registered for this purpose alone - to play Guild Wars and get HoM points. I currently only have Prophecies and EotN, but I want to get the other 2 expansions at some point to those points as well. In that regard, does anyone know where I might fight people who are doing story runs to get HoM points and such?

death--in GW you don't need other players to do the story runs--which are called missions in GW. In every town you can hire "henchmen" which are npcs you take to complete your party. They have horrible AI, but they're better than going it alone.

I suggest hoofing it to Eye of the North OR buying Nightfall ASAP, because you get "heroes" which are essentially henchmen whose skills and attributes you can micromanage. Much, much easier.

You may need others for hard modes and vanquishing (if you're going for those) but for the most part you can do it alone. If you prefer not to, look for a guild. The best places for that in-game are Lion's Arch (Prophecies) or Kamadan (Nightfall). I haven't visited Cantha in a while so I"m not sure if there's a population there. (Kaineng or Shing Jea?)

One of the great things about GW is the way they handled the population: instead of servers, there are multiple districts of towns. So if you don't find what you're looking for in town, upper left corner of your screen, change districts and try again.

I got my moss spider ended up buying it with 5 gold coins and 100gs as well I got a dire wolf which I wanted.

There are some missions that require real peope of if you can get run take it.These missions are the 3 desert missions which are the hardest in Prophecies if you want the bonus you will ned real ppl just ask here for help on those.When it comes to EoTN the last 2 is best with real ppl as well don't forget to read the gwwiki as well as the thread in the campfire on h/hing it through the game.

Thanks for the feedback on that. Yeah, my issue is that I haven't even made it to Lion's Arch Yet. I'm just now at Beacon Perch in the Shiverpeak Mountains before you head into Kryta, so I'm just not seeing a good amount of people yet. However, I did notice that there are some people hanging around in Ascalon City currently. More than likely due to Wintersday. I'm just gonna have to get through these next missions as quick as I can to get into Lion's Arch and form a good group for more efficient play through the end and then into EoTN so I get those henchmen that were mentioned.

This one time, in Guild Wars 2, I decked out a mesmer and got a legendary item.

Then, I stopped playing Guild Wars 2. Because it is boring.

It was 3 months of fun/grind.

Now I can wait for GW 1.5.

I really hope they do a good job on the storyline of how dragons came in and made a world of awesome and turned it into a world of crap and boring.

I hope they expand on the story more as well, and make it feel more immediate some how, because they, for me, didn't pace it very well or somehow it just didn't feel that way. I can't really put a definite finger on it.

Anyways, back to topic, I joined a guild just the other day in Lion's Arch so I'm hoping to start getting some assistance from them in completing the Prophecies Campaign as well as Eye of the North. I'm really wanting those 30 points!

I am currently enjoy GW2... it has its flaws, but i wont let them ruin my game-experience.

I still plan to come back to GW1 some day, because i always loved that game. In games like GW i always need to set myself goals. So finishing up HOM (i a have 48 HOM points at the moment) is probably one of them.
